There is intentional deceit and then there is sloppy journalism.
Sometimes both aspects of reporting are a combination of work by a deceiver who uses a hack writer who produces sloppy work. In the case of Ray Clark it is the latter. Ian Cowper Ross spun a series of lies that began in 1991 when BBC-TV allowed Ian Cowper Ross to begin a process of turning a work of fiction into a perceived work of fact. It was perceived as fact because it was in fact still fiction. Ray Clark followed in the footsteps of this 1991 work of televised deceit, with not one, but two books that spread the same misinformation from the same source: Ian Cowper Ross. No one seems to wonder why all of this began in 1990 as a work of fiction about events that took place in 1964, because until 1990, the misinformation spread to deceive lacked details. But in 1990, in his novel which in 1991 he claimed was as a work of fact, Ian Cowper Ross let lose and made a sucker out of Ray Clark and everyone else who believed that what Ian Cowper Ross was claiming as the truth, was in fact, a lie. But perception today is built upon that lie, and the new generation of fools who have imbibed it without checking it out, now brush everything off with "you know what we mean". What do they mean, these stupid and ignorant anoraks? They mean that Ronan O'Rahilly created a "free radio station" named "Caroline" and, they also preach that the spirit of his creation continues today in an insignificant, and licensed radio station. However, that is one big lie mouthed in two parts. Ronan O'Rahilly was a self-proclaimed selfish anarchist who used and abused everyone he came into contact with. But his behavior does not excuse Ray Clark and his ilk from spreading the lies of Ronan O'Rahilly that were amplified by Ian Cowper Ross. There is still time for Ray Clark to step forward and admit that he merely repeated the lies of other people and then packaged them for sale to gullible fools. But will he do that?
