By October 1972, the fake story in book format about the start of Radio Caroline in 1964 had all but vanished.
But a new series of books by people who had no knowledge of the financing and management of the original Radio Caroline two-ship stations began to appear when amateurs rescued one of the two former radio ships from a breaker's yard, and pretended that Radio Caroline had returned. That was a lie. Radio Caroline, the real Radio Caroline which lasted from March 1964 until August 1967, was dead, never to return.
